Case study: Project Finance

Client acquired exclusive rights to commercial rocket launches from the Russian base at Baikonur, Kazakhstan.  They wished do develop a hotel in the locality suitable for housing the large team of technicians that accompany each launch.  The hotel had to be completed within a year in order that it would be ready for the first launch.

Retained to assemble a project team and arrange finance.

Within three months had introduced a project manager, a suitable construction company, hotel management and a backer.  The project was successfully completed and on time.

Work included: -

• Identifying and assessing suitable candidates for the project team;

• Negotiating terms;

• Instructing and supervising solicitors;

• Advising on a suitable contractual and financing structure; and

• Negotiating terms for local access and facilities with the Russian Space Agency.
